First circle is Sunday, July 7th from 6 – 8 p.m. at Union Point Park and will continue the first Sunday of each month through October 2019. The drum circle rhythm serves as a universal language known to all. This interactive community rhythm event serves to bring us all closer together. Bring a drum or any percussion instrument and play with us. A drum circle is a fun, family-friendly event where people of all levels of musical talent come together to share their spirit by joining rhythmically as a percussion ensemble. Everyone participating has something to offer the drum circle with whatever drum or percussion instrument they may bring. Anyone and everyone is welcome.
Friday October 25th 9-5 Saturday October 26th 9-4:30 Come out to view over 300 quilts, multiple vendors, exhibits, the famous Twice Around Treasures booth which has moved upstairs for the added space, the exclusive Guild Boutique and even take a quilt home at the Quilts for Sale booth. The guild’s gorgeous raffle quilt will be revealed! This year TRQG will have a special guest lecturer. On Friday at 2 pm and then again on Saturday at 10 am, Lynn Gorges, Textile Conservator and Restoration Specialist, will discuss Sanitary Commission Quilts. These quilts were made in the North for wounded soldiers hospitalized right in New Bern. Let your artistry, your compassion, your struggle, your growth and your beauty shine as we come together as a community to host a beautiful quilt show and celebrate the resilience of our community.
