A new musical event comes to Eastern North Carolina on October 19th …the exciting African sounds of Daili Cissokoho & Kaira Ba. When they emigrated from Senegal to North Carolina, they initiated a musical collaboration hoping to bridge the Atlantic, connecting worlds thousands of miles apart but bound by a shared history. Over the past eight years, Diali and Kaira Ba have produced multiple albums while touring extensively in North Carolina and America. In 2014, the band was nominated for the prestigious All Africa Music Award (AFRIMA) in the category “Best African Group” for their album. In 2018 the band released Routes , recorded in both North Carolina and Senegal. Save the date: October 19 th , Epiphany School of Global Studies, New Bern Campus…..an evening of lively African music, dance and refreshments. Mali-Vibes…supporting the Arts to End Genocide/Rotary City of Children Clinic in Bamako, Mali by providing thousands of street children with medical care, meals, shoes and counseling.
