Thinking of joining Jamie and Claire Fraser in 18th Century North Carolina? The Discovering Tryon Palace series presents “Outlander Home and Hearth.” This tour will give you the skills you need as you meet the Governor’s Cook for a few tips on seasonal fare, get advice from our local Apothecary or Surgeon, and learn about the fabrics best suited for this southern colony with one of our on-site weavers.

Ticket quantities are extremely limited. Tour will begin at the Waystation at 4:15 p.m. Tickets do not include additional tours or access to the Tryon Palace Grounds. Tickets will go on sale a month before the tour date and are non-refundable and cannot be altered or exchanged.

Tryon Palace will commemorate the 78th anniversary on the attack on Pearl Harbor with a remembrance ceremony at the North Carolina History Center Saturday, Dec. 7. This free program is open to the public and begins at Cullman Performance Hall, located inside the North Carolina History Center, at 11 a.m.

This event commemorates the 78th anniversary of the day Japanese airplanes attacked the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor in 1941. More than 2,300 Americans died during the attack that officially began the United States’ involvement in World War II.
