Elisha Minter has a BA African/African-American Studies. She is a librarian, storyteller and NC Humanities Road Scholar with extensive acting, live theatre performance and film work. Ms. Minter immortalizes Fannie Lou Hamer, the youngest of twenty children of sharecropper parents. Fannie Lou Hamer, the Mississippi politician activist and civil rights leader, set the 1964 Democratic National Convention on its heels by refusing to accept limited delegate seating at the Convention because as Hamer declared, “We all tired.” Elisha tells the story through this crusaders voice and songs.
