Every third Friday of the month, a member of the Tryon Palace historical interpretation or collections team will lead a lunch lecture about people, events, and trends in history that relate to New Bern. In honor of Black History Month, the February lecture will explore the story of Asa Spelman, a free black man from Craven County who served in the American Revolution.

This monthly brownbag lunch series will be held in the North Carolina History Center.

Each Lunch and Learn will begin at noon and guests will meet in Mattocks Hall inside the North Carolina History Center. No food or beverage is provided.

Admission: $6 per person, free for Tryon Palace Foundation members
